How to remove everything The Living Word holds — which is all on your own device.

There is no account to delete, because The Living Word does not create one. Everything the app holds about you is written to your own device, so deleting it takes seconds and does not require our permission or our help. This page explains exactly how, and what happens to the one thing that is not in your hands: your subscription.

What the app holds

Your notes, highlights, bookmarks, studies, reading days, the words you have opened, your last reading position, and your display settings. All of it lives in your device's own storage. We hold no copy, because none is ever sent to us.

Delete everything, from inside the app

Open Settings in the app.
Choose Back up notes & progress first if you want to keep your notes — this writes a file you control. Once you wipe, they are gone, and we cannot restore them for you.
Choose Erase all my data. It clears everything listed above immediately.

Delete everything, by removing the app

Uninstalling The Living Word removes its stored data from your device along with it. On some systems an app's data can persist in a device backup you have made; clearing that is done through your device's own backup settings.

Your subscription

Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription, on either route. If you delete the app or your data without cancelling, the subscription keeps renewing.

If you subscribed inside the app, it is held by Apple or Google and not by us, so we cannot cancel it for you — cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. If you subscribed on this website, write to info@emmausroadpublications.org and we will cancel it and delete the record that goes with it.

Ask us to delete something

If you have written to us and want that correspondence deleted, or you believe we hold anything about you at all, write to info@emmausroadpublications.org. We will confirm within seven days and act within thirty. If we hold nothing, we will tell you that plainly rather than send you a form.
